Lindsay and Brian are nature loving. It was no surprise that they’d pick such a naturally beautiful place to be married. Ballyowen Golf Club is one of the most scenic wedding venues I’ve found in Northern New Jersey. The club house where they host weddings is situated on top of a beautiful hill overlooking a valley of well manicured golf greens and is absolutely gorgeous. Inside, a wall of windows helps bring the beauty from outside into the reception space to really set the mood for a good time.
Their love story is unique; they had been on each others radar to some degree for years, since Lindsay was close friends with Brian’s younger sister. They never really crossed paths and connected though until his sister’s wedding day. From that night on, their story began. I feel like there’s something to be said about a romance that begins at a wedding; it seems strangely full circle to me. Another couple’s happiness and joy brings the meeting of two other soul mates. There’s poetry in there somehow.
On their own wedding day, they first saw each other at their first look down the path from the clubhouse. The grass was a lush green, and the sky was a magnificent blue, that mirrored the awesome shade of Lindsay’s something-blue heels. After their formal photos, Brian drove them both in a golf cart back up to their ceremony location in anticipation of the wedding beginning.
Situated on top of a hill, guests were greeted with fantastic views of the golf course as a backdrop to their ceremony. Lindsay’s cousin Nikki officiated. My favorite moment was when the flower girl (Brian’s niece) decided she was tired of being seated, and ran back down the aisle.
At the beginning of the reception, the sun was getting low and the golf course began clearing out for the day. The sunset was next level, full of magenta, orange and deep blue hues. My second shooter Kathryn and I had a lot of fun capturing gorgeous portraits of Lindsay and Brian, including the epic silhouette featured here.
